Apprentice Coffee Engineer, Bailies Coffee Company

My name is Alice Parsons and I work for Bailies Coffee Company in Belfast, Ireland as an Apprentice Coffee Engineer. Prior to this role, I worked as a barista for 2 years. In my spare time, I love to explore specialty coffee shops, try out new recipes and challenge myself to learn new skills.

I am delighted to attend the Coffee Technicians Guild summit in Houston. I’m thankful for Cimbali, Faema and Slayer for organizing a scholarship that will be beneficial to my career in the coffee industry. I’m also looking forward to attending the hydraulics foundation course highlighting the path of water through machinery and the studies of extraction in coffee. The schedule is jam packed with interesting topics and workshops. These are fundamental skills that will enable me to grow in my current role at Bailies Coffee Roasters. It is also my first SCA event, it will be great to meet industry colleagues and share ideas.
